Most hojicha uses lower-grade raw material. Ours undergoes a dark, slow roast at high temperature for an intensely aromatic, full-bodied character.
- Fuller Body Than Typical Hojicha: Most hojicha is stem-heavy for a light, simple brew. Ours uses a higher proportion of first-harvest leaf, adding body, aroma, and a richer roast color to every cup.
- Flavor Profile: Intensely aromatic with a deep, smoky roasted character and a natural sweetness. Despite the dark roast, the taste is smooth and clean with a refreshingly light finish. Low in bitterness. Easy on the palate and gentle on the stomach.
