The Melon Audio MA-87 microphone is an exceptional microphone, emulating the look and design of a classic Neumann U87 mini microphone. The metal build of this XLR microphone offers a durable robust body and grill, made to handle the everyday knocks of home studio recording equipment. The MA-87 offers a 26mm capsule, making it the perfect microphone for singing, recording vocals in your home music studio, podcasting and streaming. The Melon Audio MA-87 is a great sounding condenser microphone, but this microphone set comes with a few great accessories as well - including a silver shock mount, wind cover and XLR microphone cable. The shock mount will reduce unwanted vibrations that could be picked up by the sensitivity of the capsule, and the wind cover pop filter will help reduce unwanted plosives. Since the MA-87 is an XLR condenser microphone, it requires 48V of phantom power to function. Condenser microphones do sound very detailed for this reason, but in return require an audio interface to offer the external 48V.
