The 12-volume series of Persian PRIME is an attractive and consolidated collection for teaching the four main skills of Persian language to adult non-Persian speakers. This series, as a part of a comprehensive program in the field of TPSOL, is developed in 6 main levels of A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 levels. PRIME book series has been prepared with the aim of teaching Persian language with general purposes for Persian learners interested in effective and practical use of this language. The series is developed along with a comprehensive content variety, Persian practicing situations, integrated skills and a wide range of speaking activities, that guides Persian learners from the elementary level (1 and 2) to the intermediate level (1 and 2) and then to the advanced level (1 and 2).The collection includes a Textbook & Workbook, a Teacher's book and Listening data for each level. For ease of access for Persian learners, the Workbook is included in continuance of the Textbook within all educational levels.In this series, grammar, vocabulary, language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) and functions are presented based on a model taken from the Persian language teaching Reference Framework (PRF; Mirdehghan Farashah et al., 2016; Mirdehghan Farashah, 2020). Each level series include around 350-500 words with each lesson introducing 6 to 10 new words.In addition, the evaluated items in Standard Persian language Proficiency Test (SAMFA) is taken under consideration throughout the Textbooks and Workbooks, and is applied in conjunction with designed Quizzes and Tests in the Teacher’s book for the learners’ achievement tests. In general, the collection provides the feasibility of the evaluation process of Persian learners.In this collection, while focusing on communication skills, the communicative approach and language learning outputs have been used. In doing so, the whole teaching process and the language skills and tasks within the lessons has been carried out in order to perform a speaking communicative activity by the learner. The lesson’s speaking goal is presented at the end of each lesson in the form of a practical learning outcome (micro-goal) with the statement of Now I can ... (Can do statements). This approach taken from the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR; 2001, 2020) in teaching languages, means focusing on determining the functions that Persian learners can do at any level by using the language.These linguistic units, in turn, create a measurable and assessable structure of the communication skills of Persian learners for teachers as well as learners.In compiling the Textbook manuscripts, Written Persian has been used. Though keeping in mind the necessity of familiarity of learners with the difference of Persian written and spoken forms, the audio data text recordings of listening activities of Dialogue and Interaction sections within the Textbooks, are provided in both written and spoken forms. Additionally, the matter is discussed for teachers with practical tips of each part within the Teacher’s book; together with presenting the listening scripts of both forms for preparing additional distinction exercises in case.The audio files can be easily accessed by scanning the QR code embedded within the book and are also available at the collection’s website, https://persianprime.org.The method of coding audio data of the series is such that from left to right the codes represent the number of related Level, Unit, Lesson and Exercise successively.
